Erbium Laser Resurfacing

Dr. Dominguez uses the Erbium laser to remove fine lines, aged or sun damages skin, remodel acne and other scars, and to promote skin tightening.  In this regard, the erbium laser is a high tech scalpel that allows for greater control and finesse than a CO2 laser.

Dr. Dominguez uses the Sciton Erbium 2940 nm Nd:YAG at precise settings dependng on you skin type and desired outcome. For instance, for a removal of sun spots and fresh no-down time peel (MicroLaserPeel), or a deep facial rejuvenation with skin tightening. The Erbium laser is FDA approved for the treatment of actinic keratosis (pre-squamous cell cancer).

Erbium laser is not IPL or any other non-ablative laser. Like CO2, depending on the settings and depth of penetration of the Erbium laser, it may considered laser surgery. Unlike CO2, Erbium is safely performed in the office using topical anesthetic.
