What is Double Chin and Jowl LipoSculpture?

Double Chin and Jowl LipoSculpture is a surgical procedure performed by Dr. Steven Dominguez to correct the normal effects of aging by removing excess adipose (fat) tissue that accumulates at the jowl, under the chin, under the jawline, and along the sides of the neck. 

Who gets a Double Chin and Jowl LipoSculpture?

Our Double Chin and Jowl LipoSculpture surgery is customized by Dr. Steven Dominguez for every patient, depending on his or her particular facial correction needs.  Double Chin and Jowl LipoSculpture can be performed alone or in conjunction with other surgical procedures of the face, eye, brow, or skin. 

Will I look younger?

Double Chin and Jowl LipoSculpture surgery cannot stop the aging process.  However, Dr. Steven Dominguez can make you look younger, alert, and vibrant. 

Double Chin and Jowl LipoSculpture by Dr. Steven Dominguez can dramatically improve droopy jowls, fat pads under the chin and neck resulting in a more youthful appearance.

 Dr. Steven Dominguez uses both traditional facial liposuction and advanced facial lipoSculpture cannulas and techniques to remove the excess adipose from the submental, submandibular, anterior, and lateral neck regions.  Fine Facial lipoSculpture cannulas are used remove the jowl adipose tissue.

Skin retraction and tightening begins at 48 hours and continues for upto 6 months. 10% of patients may benefit from Thermage CPT after 8 weeks for maximal skin tightening. 2% of patients may benefit from submentalplasty or neck lift.

Is there bruising and swelling?

 Dr. Steven Dominguez uses a blood-less technique, so pain, bruising and swelling is very minimal.  Most patients return to work in 4 days. 

Normal healing and skin tightening will result in a dense texture ("woody induration") in the area liposculptured.  This is a normal reaction that leads to significant retraction and tightening. Ideally, the woody induration should last 6-12 weeks. 

Will I be scarred?

Scars are inevitable whenever the skin is cut.  But our surgeons hide the incisions in the natural skin folds in front and behind your ear and under the chin leaving a fine incision line of approximately 2mm (scar).

Do I need to be put to sleep for the Double Chin and Jowl LipoSculpture?

Our Double Chin and Jowl LipoSculpture surgery can be safely performed by Dr. Steven Dominguez under local anesthesia without narcotics or mind altering drugs. 

What won't a Double Chin and Jowl LipoSculpture do?

A Double Chin and Jowl LipoSculpture will not erase evidence of one’s racial or ethnic heritage.  A face and/or neck lift will not eliminate dark spots, facial blood vessels, or other skin related issues. An Erbium laser may be indicated in addition to other non-surgical procedures such as “fillers” to ameliorate these conditions.
